1998 Lightning Girls Earn Promotion to CGSL Level 4 Premier for 2012

 Head coach, Bill Sutherland, is thrilled to announce that the U14 Girls have earned promotion into the premier division of the Central Girls Soccer League (CGSL) for the summer of 2012.  The team has been training and playing up to three times a week over the winter, and are looking forward to the challenges of being a premier level team.

The Lightning 96 Girls Battled Hard in the Final Round of the Ontario Indoor Cup.

The Markham Lightning 1996 Girls finished third in the 2012 Ontario Indoor Cup with a record of two ties and a loss in their final round tournament.

The squad opened the tournament with Nepean Hotspurs and fought for a 1-1 draw.  In the second game, neither Markham nor the Greater Sudbury Impact could find the net in another 0-0 draw.

The final match pitted the ladies against the Brams United Angels who had effectively clinched the division.  Despite a strong match, the Lightning finished on the short end of a 2-0 score.

 

The Boys 2002 Lightning Black squad captured the MLS Holiday Tournament Championship for their fifth consecutive tournament win!

The Boys 2002 Lightning Black, coached by Dave Georgievski, Joe Zitoli and Donie Aprile, vanquished a strong Dixie squad in the final match by a 4-1 count to capture the championship at the recent MLS Holiday tournament.

The squad has advanced to the finals in six consecutive tournaments and have been victorious in the last five nailbiting finals.

The Markham Masters Team Wins National Championship.


The Markham Masters team coached by Dino Cramarossa won the National Club Championship in Charlottetown PEI over the Thanksgiving weekend.
